Viewing

This site has been tested on various combinations of operating systems and web browsers, and we suggest the following as minimum requirements for viewing this site (however, the site should still function below these requirements):

Platform: PC (including Windows, Linux and Unix) and Mac (OS 8.6 - OS X)
Display: 800 x 600
Browser: Firefox 1.5 and above, Internet Explorer 5.5 and above, Opera, Safari (and its derivatives) and Konqueror.
If you are using a browser which does not match or exceed these specifications, we strongly suggest that you upgrade your browser to the most recent version that your system can support.

You may find that on small monitors, or at low screen resolutions, certain elements on the page overlap; if this is the case, we suggest you maximise your browser window and close any favourites, bookmark or history panels you may have open in order to increase readability and navigability.

If you are having any difficulties viewing any of the content on this site, or if you discover any broken links or missing images, please email webmaster@adamequipment.co.uk, stating the platform, operating system, browser (name and version) and display settings that you are using, along with details of the problems that you are experiencing.

Navigation

The menu in the top right corner of this window displays thematically grouped shortcuts to different sections of the site. You can also use the search facilities lower down on the right hand side to search for products by keywords or specification, or use the links at the top of this page to find products specific to your domain of interest. The line immediately below the Adam Equipment logo at the top left of the window tells you where you are in the site, and provides quick and easy access to your regional home page, or the region selection screen.

At the footer of the page, there are a number of links that provide more direct access to various pages on the site. In addition, there is a site map which affords an overview of the entire site.

About Flash

Macromedia Flash is a technology used for displaying dynamic and interactive content in web pages. This site currently contains very little Flash content, although we may decide to use Flash more extensively in the future. If you can see the animation below, then you already have Flash installed. If not, then you can download the flash player from Macromedia. This process is free, and should take no longer than a couple of minutes.

« Animation should appear here. Click square to stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the best way to find the product I am interested in?
There are many ways of searching for products on this site. The menu at the top right of this window gives access to a list of our products categorised by type / application. The links at the top of the page will display industry specific products, if you want to search for products best suited to your needs. If you know the capacity or readability that you require, then you can use the pull down menus on the right hand side (under the heading 'Product Search') to search by these criteria.

You can also search by keywords; for example, if you are interested in products that can be used for weighing jewellery, just type in the word 'jewellery' in the search box, and a list of relevant products will be displayed. Searching for features of a balance, such as 'density determination' will also return the relevant products.

Does this site use cookies?
Cookies are small text files, stored on the user's computer, which contain basic information about user preferences. We currently use cookies to 'remember' your preferred region in order to skip the region selection screen on entry, so as to speed up your access to the site. It is worth mentioning that the cookies we store can cause no harm to your machine, nor do they pose any threat to your security or privacy.

Note to Dealer Zone users: In addition to the cookie mentioned above, cookies are used in the Dealer Zone section of the site, firstly in order to provide an extra level of Dealer Zone security, and secondly in order to remember your email address, to save you having to re-type it. No potentially sensitive information is stored in this cookie. Cookies must be activated in order to access the Dealer Zone.

Why does this site sometimes look different when I change my browser?
This site makes extensive use of a Web Standard called CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), which enables developers to separate the content of a document from its presentation, thereby enabling a greater number of users (including those with disabilities) to access the content of the site, whilst still offering a rich browsing experience (incidentally, this often leads to shorter download times too, which is good for everyone). Although this means that any web browser (on any device) should be able to view the content of this site, it may not be presented in the format the designer intended in older, non standards-compliant browsers. If you are using such a browser (typically Netscape Navigator 4.x or below, or Internet Explorer 4.x or below), then we strongly suggest that you upgrade your browser (do not worry, many -- though not all -- of these browsers are free to download and use). You may find that this site, along with many others, will look much better as a result of this upgrade, improving your overall web viewing experience.
