Trade associations are organizations founded and funded by businesses that operate in a specific industry, such as weighing or scales and balances. Funded by contributions made by the member companies, trade associations participate in public relations activities such as advertising, networking, conferences, charitable events, education, lobbying and publishing, but their main purpose is collaboration between companies. Many associations are non-profit, governed by bylaws and directed by officers who are also members. In many instances, a trade organization is set up as a non-profit organization. This type of business organization makes it possible for companies involved in the same industry to work together on issues of common concern. To a certain extent, a trade organization helps to protect the integrity of an industry, in that it normally sets standards that all members must abide by in order to be considered in good standing. GAMBICA is a national organization representing the interests of companies in the instrumentation, control and automation industry in the United Kingdom. GAMBICA member companies operate throughout the world and have a high reputation for innovative technology, product reliability and response to market requirement. International Society of Weighing & Measurement

The International Society of Weighing and Measurement is a non-profit organization based in the United States whose sole intent is the advancement of its members. Formerly known as the National Scale Men's Association, ISWM has existed for more than 70 years. Members include manufacturers, distributors, government officials, end users, scale purchasers and suppliers to the industry. Members come from diverse backgrounds, but are committed to technical advancements in the weighing and measurement industry. ISWM members handle a variety of products and services, including A/D converters, wheel load weighers, bar code scanners, torque measuring, computer weighing systems, test weights, digital display meters, radio frequency identification systems, force gauges, precision balances, load cells and packaging machine scales.

The Laboratory Products Association (LPA) is a part of the Scientific Apparatus Makers Association (SAMA) Group of Associations founded in 1918. Its member companies are manufacturers and distributors of laboratory products such as glass, plasticware, chemicals, equipment and scientific supplies.

Diclab (Instruments Distributor Association for Scientific Use and Laboratory Material, AC) includes the main manufacturers and distributors of materials, chemicals and laboratory products in Mexico.
